WASHINGTON, DC (February 15, 2017) – On February 9, 2017, Mazda Motor Corporation decided to conduct a Voluntary Safety Recall Campaign to address a concern with 2010-2011 Mazda3 and 2011 Mazda2 vehicles equipped with a driver’s side manual seat lifter.
On the driver seat, due to insufficient strength of the seat height adjustment lifter link, or incorrect attachment method of the lifter link push nuts, the lifter link may become cracked or the lifter link push nuts may become separated.
Approximately 173,859 units in the US and US territories are affected. These include:
MY 2010-2011 Mazda3 (Produced October 2008 through September 2010)
MY 2010-2011 Mazdaspeed3 (Produced May 2009 through September 2010)
MY 2011 Mazda2 (Produced May 2010 through September 2010)
As of February 6, 2017, there have been no reports of accidents or injuries.
