News Releases
WASHINGTON, DC. (Nov. 1, 2024) – Mazda North American Operations (MNAO), on behalf of Mazda Motor Corporation, has filed a safety noncompliance defect notification with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) for a concern which exists on certain 2024-2025MY CX-90 and 2025MY CX-70 vehicles.
Due to improper software programming of the Dash Electrical Supply Unit (ESU), an error may occur during vehicle startup. If this occurs, multiple warning messages will be displayed in the instrument cluster, and the defroster, seat belt warning, and 360° view monitor functions may not operate properly. Furthermore, the engine warning light may be illuminated, and the PHEV high-voltage battery cooling system may not function as intended. If the defroster, seat belt warning and 360° camera view monitor functions do not work, this can increase the risk of a crash.
There have been no reports of any accidents or injuries due to the defect.
Approximate number of vehicles affected in the U.S. and U.S. Territories:
2024-2025MY CX-90 – 70,974 units
2025MY CX-70 – 9,943 units
Affected owners will be notified by U.S. Mail.
