On February 11, 2015, U.S. News & World Report named its “2015 Best Cars for the Money” awards, which included the 2015 Mazda CX-9 as the Best Large SUV for the Money and 2015 Mazda5 as the Best Minivan for the Money. This is the fourth consecutive award for Mazda5. According to U.S. News & World Report, the “Best Cars for the Money” methodology combines quality and value data into a composite score. Within each of 21 categories, the vehicle with the highest score is named the “Best Car for the Money” in that category. Quality is measured by the overall score achieved in the U.S. News & World Report car rankings at the time the awards are published. Value is measured by five-year total cost of ownership and the average price paid for the vehicle at the time of the awards.
