2016 Mazda MX-5 Miata Named Best Sports Car for the Money by US News & World Report

IRVINE, Calif., Feb. 9, 2016 /PRNewswire/ — The 2016 Mazda MX-5 Miata has been named the “Best Sports Car for the Money” by US News & World Report. Mazda’s lightweight roadster was selected based on the media reviews it has received, as well as driving performance, interior features and comfort, reliability and safety ratings.

Now, as has been the case for the past 27 years, MX-5 continues to thrill and delight those who drive it—casual enthusiasts, commuters and racecar drivers alike. Lighter, quicker and more fuel-efficient than its predecessor, thanks to Mazda’s SKYACTIV Technology suite, the 2016 MX-5 is a thoroughly modern sports car with head-turning KODO—Soul of Motion design that provides drivers and passengers with an unrivaled open-top experience.

With a starting MSRP in the U.S. of $24,9151, MX-5 also is one of the most accessible sports cars in the U.S., coming standard with power windows, LED headlights and tail lights and leather-wrapped steering wheel, shift knob and parking brake. Available options include a limited-slip rear differential, lightweight 17-inch forged BBS wheels and Brembo front brakes in the MX-5 Club trim level. In MX-5 Grand Touring, features include amenities like heated leather seating surfaces, a Bose premium audio system, adaptive headlights, navigation and even safety features like rear cross-traffic alert, blind spot monitoring and lane-departure warning.

US News & World Reports factored vehicle reviews and other scores with average price paid, according to TrueCar, and an estimated five-year cost of ownership from analytics company Vincentric, LLC. More information can be found at its website.
