IRVINE, Calif. (March 11, 2019) – Continuing to bring the wheel-to-wheel action of the Battery Tender Global Mazda MX-5 Cup Presented by BFGoodrich directly to its fans, Mazda Motorsports announced today that it will stream the season-opening weekend from Circuit of The Americas.
The pair of races from Austin, Texas will be shown live at MazdaMotorsports.com – Mazda’s online hub for information for the thousands of Mazda autocrossers, road racers, and fans. The races will afterwards be posted to the Mazda USA YouTube channel.
The 2019 Global MX-5 Cup season opener will also be the first race of the new Global MX-5 Cup car which features the higher-revving, 181-horsepower SKYACTIV-G engines found in the 2019 Mazda Miata MX-5. The 2018 Global MX-5 Cup season opener at Circuit of The Americas saw Bryan Ortiz claim the first race before rookie Selin Rollan narrowly beat him to win the second race.

The first race of the Global MX-5 Cup season opener from Circuit of The Americas will be held on Saturday, March 23 at 3:30 p.m. ET with the second on Sunday, March 24 at 9:05 p.m. ET.
