Mazda North American Operations Executives

Shawn Murphy is vice president, general counsel and corporate secretary for Mazda North American Operations (MNAO). In his current role, Shawn is responsible for all legal, government affairs, and audit matters facing MNAO. In addition to these responsibilities, Murphy serves as company secretary for Mazda Motor of America, Inc. board of directors and is a member of its audit committee.

Murphy joined Mazda in December 2007. Prior to joining Mazda, he held the position of general counsel and secretary for Jaguar Land Rover North America and Aston Martin. Prior to his position with Jaguar Land Rover and Aston Martin, Murphy held various positions of increasing responsibility with the Ford Motor Company and Ford Motor Credit Company general counsel offices.

Murphy is affiliated with the Michigan and California Bar Associations, American Bar Association, Orange County Bar Association, and the Association of Corporate Counsel.

Murphy holds a finance degree from Michigan State University and earned his Juris Doctorate with honors from the University of Detroit Mercy, School of Law. He currently resides in Southern California.
